All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

In adherence to the social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC, we have implemented strict protocols at our clinic to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

  • Patients who have active symptoms of illness or a fever of 100 degrees or higher must call ahead to arrange after-hours dosing.
  • The number of people allowed inside the building at any given time is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines.

  • To maintain line restrictions, patients are asked to wait in their cars until direction is given.

Fitchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center provides medication-assisted treatment to individuals who are struggling with addictions to opioids.

Our treatment is specialized to meet the needs of men and women, aged 18 and older, who wish to take a comprehensive approach in order to address and treat the emotional and psychological components of addiction. Patients are able to incorporate the following prescription medications into their customized plans of treatment:

Methadone:Prescribed to eliminate the symptoms of withdrawal while keeping cravings for additional opioid use at bay, methadone is an opioid agonist that is a safe option to effectively wean patients off of opioids.

Subutex: With buprenorphine as its main ingredient, Subutex is a partial opioid agonist-antagonist that blocks the effects of opioids within a patient’s brain. When taken, Subutex reduces cravings for continued opioid use while diminishing the symptoms of withdrawal.

Suboxone: Suboxone includes a combination of naloxone and buprenorphine that reduces the symptoms of withdrawal and eliminates cravings for continued opioid use. Patients who attempt to abuse Suboxone or other substances during the course of treatment will experience uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal.

The specific medication that is prescribed as well as the dosage administered will vary based upon the specific needs of each individual patient. Adjustments to medications can be made throughout the course of treatment if required.

In addition to the medication-assisted treatment provided by Fitchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center, patients are invited to take part in therapeutic interventions in order to help progress in treatment. The dedicated team of experienced physicians, nurses, and counselors believe that in order for long-term recovery to be achieved, patients must treat the physical and psychological components of addiction simultaneously. The following therapeutic services can be incorporated into a patient’s comprehensive plan of treatment:

  • Individual therapy sessions provide patients with the opportunity to openly discuss their behaviors, emotions, and feelings within a safe and supportive atmosphere. These one-on-one sessions help patients to understand and treat the underlying factors that may have contributed to their addictive behaviors in the first place in order to prepare for a substance-free future.
  • Group therapy sessions are led by our highly qualified counselors and help patients to discuss their struggles and achievements amongst other patients who are also obtaining treatment for addiction. By coming together with their peers, group sessions provide patients with support and guidance from individuals who understand firsthand the obstacles associated with addiction and recovery.

Ultimately, the patients who take part in the treatment available through Fitchburg Comprehensive Treatment Center are able to successfully progress towards a future free from the dangers of opioid addiction.
